Pane e Vino has had good and bad reviews, despite this I did decide to give it a try.
I had a wonderful experience, the wine list is amazing, food was great. it is a very romantic restaurant and the service is top notch.
I would recommend this to any of my friends.
Extremely Disappointed

I was in town visiting my parents for my mothers birthday and wanted to take her out for a great meal. Suggested by the hotel concierge service, we decided to dine at Pane Vino. We arrived at the restaurant about 10 minutes early for our reservation so when we were asked to wait I didn't think much of it. Although don't try to get a drink at the bar. The lovely girl behind the bar was so overwhelmed that I think she might have needed periodical doses of oxygen. After waiting 45 minutes for our table to be ready (we were 10 minutes early, 30 minutes past our reservation time) we were sat at a table inches from the next table. I wasn't really impressed with the cafeteria style seating. Our server expeditiously greeted us with a smile and asked us what type of water we would like and our drink order, follow by bread and oil. When she returned we gave our food order as we already knew what we wanted as we waited an extra 30 minutes to be seated. Not that bad so far. We ordered the calamari and the meat/cheese platter for appetizers. If you like mushy and oily calamari this is for you. I however do not While waiting for our entrees we could see through a window, which on the other side is the kitchen. We could see the kitchen staff stuffing food in their mouths. I'm gonna take a stab and say this is not very sanitary. Shortly there after our entrees arrive my mother got the aqua paza which was about 4oz of poached fish (which she said tasted like watered down tomatoes) with what looked like mini McDonald's home fries. My father ordered the filet steak med rare that came out mooing. My husband ordered fra diavlo which was not spicy at all but other wise was ok. I ordered the veal saltimboca. The sauce was a little runny but pretty good but I'm wondering how long the paper thin veal was cooked as it was like cutting leather with butter knife. When the server returned she asked how everything was. My father asked her if she could have them put his filet back on the grill to med rare temp and quickly remove the dish and brought it to the kitchen. After about 10 minutes our server brought the filet back out and what do you know.... med rare is obviously to difficult for their grill cook to comprehend as the steak was now well done, or maybe he was upset it was sent back. My father informed her it was still not correct but decided not to make an issue and ate some of it anyway. The rest he gave to his dog. After dinner we were offered dessert and decided to get coffee and a piece of cheesecake for my mothers birthday. We all shared it as we're not really sweet eaters. If we were not totally disappointed already to make things worse the second I signed the credit card statement the hostess with abnormally large rear end asked us to leave as they needed the table for another party. (did they do the same for us when we waited and extra 30 minute past our reservation time?) I asked her if she minded if we finished our coffee and with a smile she said sure. Unbelievable! I have never felt as unsatisfied and under appreciated, ever, in a dining experience as we did at this place. After spending $200+ we left with a bad taste in our mouths. Fool me once shame on you! Fool me twice shame on me. There will not be a second visit to Pane Vino
Pros: great wine list, friendly server
Cons: food, door staff, parking, wait
All around terrible experience

After reading positive reviews, I came to Pane E Vino after a show at the Dunk. It was midweek so we got seated right away, but after that everything went downhill...
When the bread first came I was excited because it was extremely soft; that is until I bit in and found it was still dough. Next we ordered our wine and put in an order for the appetizer special- stuffed mozzarella and peppers in buffalo olive oil. After the waitress mistakenly poured our wine in the water glass, she returned with the wine in the wine glass, but no replacement water glass. 15 or 20 minutes went by and we still had no water. Eventually the appetizer arrived..several very wet slices of squishy mozzarella and 4 or 5 tiny peppers. The problem is we couldn't actually eat it since we still had our menus on our plates (and no water) since the waitress never took our entree order! After we finally ordered, we each had one bite of the appetizer and decided we were done. We found out when the check came that our two bites cost us $16!
By the time the entrees came, we were both already in a bad mood and not expecting much. As expected, her shrimp dish was just so so with her risotto cold and my chicken piccata was so covered in lemony sauce that I could only eat one of the two pieces.
All in all, we left down $90 and wishing we had gone to Cassertas and grabbed a slice of pizza instead.
Pros: Vallet, Nice Atmosphere
Cons: Food, Service, Price
